New Startup Changing The Game

Melanie Perkin who is the CEO and Co-Founder of the multibillion-dollar design platform Canva started at humble beginnings. Even from a young age, she was ambitious, hardworking, and always took even the simplest tasks seriously. But while studying at university and teaching design programs in her spare time, she grew dissatisfied with the design process. So at just the tender age of 19, she started to contemplate solutions and began by creating a simple school yearbook design tool with her boyfriend. The tool would allow the students/staff to collaborate, produce a design and then the company would print and deliver. This was very successful, however, Melanie still wanted to go further and sought out to find investors that would take her company to the next level. Her goal was to produce a company that would “take the entire design ecosystem, integrate it into one page, and then make it accessible to the whole world.” And this was just the beginning.
